Does ManyChat work with YouTube? No, and here is what does
July 17, 2026 · 7 min read
No. ManyChat does not support YouTube: its channels are Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS, and email, and YouTube is not among them (checked July 2026). No plan tier changes that, and there is no YouTube integration hiding in the settings. The follow-up question is the useful one: what does cover YouTube comments? Two tools do it properly. BetterReply covers YouTube comments inside the same inbox as Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, and email, with replies drafted in your voice, at $29 a month flat. CommentShark covers YouTube alone, free for 20 actions a month and from $19 after that. Here is the full picture.
What ManyChat actually covers
ManyChat calls its category chat marketing, and the name is accurate. It is a flow builder for DM conversations on chat channels: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS, and email. You draw an automation in the builder, a keyword or an ad click triggers it, and the flow runs a DM conversation from there. Billing follows the same logic. ManyChat charges by active contacts, the people your account interacted with in the billing month: on annual billing $14 a month covers 250 contacts, $29 covers 2,500 and includes AI, and $139 covers 25,000, with month to month at $17, $39, and $199 (manychat.com/pricing, checked July 2026). The free plan covers 25 contacts on any two of Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, and Telegram.
This is a serious company, not a gap you can wave away as a small vendor being slow. ManyChat has raised about $163 million, claims over a million businesses, and is a Meta Business Partner and a TikTok Marketing Partner. On its own turf it is the deepest tool in the category. It can even post AI public replies on Instagram through its AI Comments feature, which matches your tone, though that feature is Instagram only, positive comments only, and still in beta.
Notice what every channel on that list has in common: each one is a place where a private conversation can happen. That is not an accident, and it is exactly why YouTube is missing.
Why YouTube does not fit ManyChat's model
YouTube has no DM API. Not for ManyChat, not for anyone. No tool can send a private message on YouTube, so any product whose core loop ends in a DM has nothing to build on there.
That is the real answer to why ManyChat skips YouTube. Everything in ManyChat, the flow builder, the contact database, the active-contact billing, assumes the comment is the doorway and the DM conversation is the product. On YouTube there is no doorway. Comments and public replies are the entire surface. A flow with no DM to send has nothing to do, and a commenter who can never become a contact has nothing to bill.
So this is not a missing checkbox on a roadmap. Supporting YouTube would mean building a different kind of product, one that works in public, in the comment section, instead of in private chat. That product category exists. It is just not chat marketing, and ManyChat has shown no sign of building it.
What comment automation looks like on YouTube
Because there is no DM, YouTube automation is reply automation. When a tool supports YouTube properly, it gives you the public-side versions of what ManyChat does in private.
- Voice-trained reply drafts. The tool learns from replies you have already written and drafts responses that sound like you, so a video with a busy comment section does not eat your evening.
- Keyword-triggered public replies with a link. Someone comments your keyword, the tool posts a public reply that includes your link. It is the same mechanic ManyChat runs on Instagram, adapted for a channel where the reply is visible to everyone.
- Approval before posting. Because replies are public, a queue you approve, or clear rules for which replies can send on their own, matters more here than it does in a private DM.
The biggest driver of post performance is whether you show up and talk back.

That is the case for bothering at all. Replies are engagement the algorithm can see, and on YouTube the comment section is the only conversation surface you get. We wrote up the full approach in reply marketing on YouTube.
The two tools that actually cover YouTube
Only two tools in this space handle YouTube comments with voice-trained AI. One covers every channel, one covers YouTube alone. The full ranking of YouTube comment reply tools goes deeper, but the short version is here.
BetterReply: YouTube plus every other channel in one inbox
BetterReply treats YouTube as one channel in a unified inbox. Your YouTube comments land next to Instagram and Facebook comments and DMs, Threads comments, LinkedIn page comments and personal DMs, and email on Pro and Team, threaded per person. The AI drafts every reply in your voice, trained on how you have replied before, and it learns from your edits. You approve drafts or let the safe ones send on their own; anything that asks a question stays draft-only. Keyword automations work without a builder: on YouTube, a keyword comment triggers a public reply with your link, and you set it up by writing the keyword and the message once.
The honest scope note: BetterReply covers your active and recent content. Comments on older back-catalog videos still surface in the inbox for you to answer manually, but the automation is aimed at the videos getting attention now. Pricing is flat with unlimited contacts and AI on every tier: Creator is $29 a month, founding members lock $19 for life while the first 100 spots last, and there is a 7-day trial with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The full walkthrough is in how BetterReply works with YouTube.
CommentShark: YouTube only, done well
CommentShark does YouTube comments and nothing else. No DMs, no other platforms, no posting. Within that scope it is genuinely good: it "automatically learns your voice from your past replies" (their words) and runs an approval queue before anything posts. Pricing starts free at 20 actions a month, then Starter is $19 a month for 250 actions, Creator is $49 for 1,250, and Pro is $139 for 5,000 (their pricing page, checked July 2026). They claim 3,000 plus creators and 4.7 million plus comments handled, their numbers.
If YouTube is your only channel and your volume fits inside 250 actions, CommentShark at $19 is a fine buy, and the free 20 actions let you test it without a card. The trade is scope. The moment your audience spans YouTube plus anything else, you are running two inboxes and paying two bills.

What to do if you already pay for ManyChat
The right move depends on why you bought it in the first place.
If you bought ManyChat for WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, or SMS, keep it. No YouTube tool replaces those channels, and running ManyChat next to a YouTube tool causes no conflict because they never touch the same surface. Add BetterReply or CommentShark for the channel ManyChat cannot see and leave the rest alone.
If Instagram comment-to-DM is the main thing you actually use, consolidating is worth a look. One inbox that covers Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, and LinkedIn together is simpler than ManyChat plus a YouTube add-on, and a flat bill does not climb when a post takes off. Be aware there is no importer: you set your keywords up again by hand, which on BetterReply means writing the keyword and the message once per automation, with no builder to rebuild. The full teardown is on the ManyChat alternative page.
The decision rule
Bought ManyChat for chat channels like WhatsApp or Messenger? Keep it and add a YouTube tool beside it. Bought it for creator channels and comment-to-DM? Consolidate on one inbox that includes YouTube. The one wrong answer is assuming ManyChat has YouTube covered, because it does not, and the commenters over there cannot tell you have an automation stack at all.
Frequently asked questions
Does ManyChat support YouTube comments?+
No. ManyChat's channels are Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS, and email (checked July 2026). No plan tier adds YouTube, and its AI Comments feature works on Instagram only.
Can ManyChat send DMs on YouTube?+
No, and neither can any other tool. YouTube has no DM API, so private messages cannot be automated there by anyone. On YouTube, comments and public replies are the only surfaces, which is why YouTube tools focus on voice-trained comment replies instead of DM conversations.
What tools automatically reply to YouTube comments?+
BetterReply and CommentShark. BetterReply covers YouTube comments alongside Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, and email in one inbox, with replies drafted in your voice, at $29 a month flat. CommentShark is YouTube only, also voice-trained, free for 20 actions a month and $19 a month for 250 actions after that.
Can I use ManyChat and a YouTube tool together?+
Yes, and it is a sensible setup if you bought ManyChat for WhatsApp, Messenger, or SMS. The two never touch the same channel, so nothing conflicts. If Instagram comment-to-DM is the only thing you use ManyChat for, one inbox that covers Instagram and YouTube together is usually simpler and cheaper than paying for both.
